Amygdalin is a cyanogenic glycoside. Scientific and regulatory sources report that oral amygdalin can generate cyanide, and excessive exposure can cause cyanide toxicity. This is particularly important because the supplied label does not state the actual amygdalin content or cyanogenic-glycoside assay. For accuracy, although the front label refers to “B17”, amygdalin is not recognised as a vitamin in the scientific nomenclature used by the National Cancer Institute.
